Wings 'n' Wheels Freewheelers are designed to cater for visitors who want to have their own itinerary and to reserve their accommodation as they go, on a day to day basis.

A comfortable stay to suit your needs is available to you in the cities and towns, as well as our superb holiday resorts, smaller centres, and scenic countryside and rural areas.

You make the choice of which style of accommodation suits your mood each day - you combine the best of both worlds - its up to you. Your prepaid vouchers cover:


  • Over 100 Bed and Breakfasts (including some farm/home stays)
  • Over 80 Best Western 'blue' motel properties
  • Over 90 Golden Chain 'blue' motel properties

Bookings:
Wings 'n' Wheels Freewheeler Holidays operate all year round. Because of limited accommodation in some resort areas, and the popularity of motel accommodation with the travelling public, we suggest that you take a pre-booked holiday during our summer season, from October through to April. Motel accommodation can also be difficult to secure during Easter, the Christmas holidays and the school holiday periods in April, July and September/October.

Motel accommodation in the Mt Cook National Park is not available and in South Westland the number of motels is very limited.

Interisland Travel
If you intend travelling through both the North and the South Islands you must make your own arrangements for either sea or air travel between the two islands. You will need to give 72 hours notice of your intention to travel to the other island in order that a car can be ready and waiting for you. The minimum length of hire is three days per island. One and two days on application.

Prices Do Not Include:



a) Meals (other than continental breakfasts at the B & B accommodation), beverages, tips, sightseeing/entrance fees or items of personal nature.

b) Communication costs to reserve your accommodation. If you want us to pre book for you, there is a small charge of NZ$10.00 per room per night.

c) Interisland air or ferry fares.

d) Insurance (apart from the basic car insurance).

e) Petrol and oil.

All of these chains, and within some of these properties, there are higher graded units which incur a small supplementary charge. Should you choose to stay in one of these, you can still use your voucher, and simply pay the small supplement direct.

* Some motels may charge a small supplement for pre booking a one bedroom unit, instead of a studio unit. Some motels have large two bedroom family units, and surcharges will be applied if you elect to stay in that type of accommodation.

What Your 7 Days 6 Nights includes:


a) Your late model rental car including unlimited kilometres.

b) Six nights prepaid accommodation, Golden Chain and Best Western Motels and Hotels throughout New Zealand, based on using one unit or hotel room. All have private facilities, TV, phones, tea and coffee making facilities, etc. Many have fully equipped kitchens. Econo B & B's offering clean, comfortable B & B accommodation with either guest share or family share bathroom facilities (ideal for the thrifty-minded traveller).

c) Continental breakfast each morning - B & B option only

d) Meeting on arrival at Auckland, Wellington and/or Christchurch.

e) Road maps, accommodation directories and brochures to assist you with itinerary planning and sightseeing.
